A new table

Daugenet and I bought a kitchen table from a place in Charleston back April, I believe (it was so long ago!) We bought it unfinished for several reasons and most of them revolve around the fact that we wanted them to look "right" in our new kitchen at the new house (which we hadn't moved into yet in April).
Well, the table sat in the box for about 2-3 months in my old apartment. Then we got married and the table moved with us to the new house. And it sat in the box for another 2-3 months. (Talk about dragging things out!). So finally at the end of August we drug a chair out into the garage and put some stain on it to decide if we liked the color or not. It was a not. A definite not. So we had a chair darker stain than we wanted and no color to go with. Back to Lowe's we go. After about 2 more colors we settled on Cherry. But not just one coat of cherry. Four coats of cherry. This is four coats of stain on four chairs (we had to go buy a new one because the other one didn't strip well), four coats on the leaf (top and bottom), four coats on the table (top and bottom) and four coats on the drawers and legs. Wow.
So here are the parts and pieces in the garage with four coats of stain and a few coats of polyurethane.
Since I took these pictures I have totally finished the two chairs, all of the legs and the table. The only pieces left are putting polyurethane on the bottom of the leaf, and one more coat of stain on the other 2 chairs and then their 3 coats of polyurethane. We're so close! We will have a table by Christmas!! :-D
